When Was NADRA Established?

NADRA (National Database and Registration Authority) was established on March 18, 2000. It was created with the aim of modernizing Pakistan’s national identity system and providing efficient and reliable services to its citizens.

Before NADRA’s establishment, Pakistan’s identity system was outdated and inefficient. The introduction of NADRA brought about significant improvements, such as the introduction of the Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC) and the development of a centralized database.
